The Spillane trademark - violence and sex - is stamped on "The Long Wait", which was the second of Mickey Spillane's thrillers to be brought to the big screen. Anthony Quinn, Charles Coburn, Gene Evans and Peggie Castle are co-starred and the featured cast is headed by Mary Ellen Kay, Shawn Smith and Dolores Donlon. The Spillane story tells of the valiant efforts of an amnesia victim to clear himself of a framed murder rap. Anthony Quinn tries to prove who he is and what he didn't do, namely bank robbery and murder. In his search he comes across four beautiful women who fit in with his plans as he is looking for an ex-girlfriend whom he thinks can clear him of the rap - and the one way that he can identify her is by the way she kisses. |
